PROJECT

FUTURE Landscape Regeneration.

Restore Land. Revive Ecosystems. Reconnect Communities.

Restoring Broken Land to Thriving Ecosystems.

Across Canterbury, many landscapes have been damaged, cleared or fragmented — places where native ecosystems once thrived but now require care and long-term restoration. Through its Landscape Regeneration projects, the Willowbank Foundation is helping transform these spaces back into healthy, thriving natural environments.

From Christchurch’s red zone to waterways and community landscapes, our work focuses on native planting, habitat restoration and the return of biodiversity. By working alongside conservation partners, iwi and local communities, we aim to restore balance to the land and support the return of native flora and fauna.

Landscape regeneration is about more than planting trees. It is about healing land, strengthening ecosystems and creating places where nature and people can thrive together again across Canterbury.
