Supporting families when life changes UNEXPECTEDLY.
Christchurch Hospital provides specialist hospital and health services for people across Canterbury and the wider South Island, caring for patients and supporting their whānau through serious illness, injury, treatment and recovery.
Alongside medical care, hospital social workers and support teams help patients and families navigate the wider impact of illness and hospitalisation — providing practical and emotional support during what can be an incredibly challenging time.
Our PARTNERSHIP
Through our partnership with Christchurch Hospital, Dale’s DAY OUT gives families facing serious illness, injury, bereavement or trauma the opportunity to step away from treatment, appointments and the hospital environment and simply enjoy some time together.
Through appropriate hospital care and support teams, families can be referred for a fully sponsored day at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, with entry, food and drinks, travel support and a little extra all taken care of.
Whether it is a parent, child or other family member facing a serious health challenge, Dale’s DAY OUT is about giving the whole family a chance to reconnect, experience nature and wildlife, have some fun and make memories that matter.
