The Willowbank Foundation is a registered New Zealand charitable trust (CC63438) established to create positive and lasting impact across three key areas: Conservation, Community & Education, and Science & Research.
References to “the Foundation”, “we”, “our” or “us” in these Terms and Conditions mean The Willowbank Foundation.

Donations
Donations to The Willowbank Foundation are voluntary gifts made to support our charitable purposes.
All online donations made through The Willowbank Foundation website are processed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) unless otherwise stated.
By making a donation, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided and that the information you provide is accurate.
Online payments may be processed through a secure third-party payment provider. The Willowbank Foundation does not intend to directly store your full credit or debit card details.
Use of Donations
Unless a donation has been expressly accepted by The Willowbank Foundation for a particular project, programme or purpose, donations may be applied where the Foundation determines they can best support our charitable purposes and priorities.
Where we raise or accept donations for a specified project, programme, appeal or campaign, we will endeavour to apply those funds to that purpose.
From time to time, circumstances outside the Foundation's control may mean that a project or programme changes, is delayed, is fully funded, cannot proceed as originally anticipated or no longer requires the full amount raised.
Where this occurs, and subject to any applicable legal requirements or specific agreement with the donor, the Foundation may apply surplus or unspent funds to a related purpose or another area of the Foundation's charitable work that most closely reflects the original intent of the donation.
Donation Receipts and Tax Credits
Where The Willowbank Foundation is entitled to issue donation receipts for New Zealand tax purposes, a receipt will be provided for qualifying donations where we have the information required to issue one.
Donors are responsible for ensuring that the name, contact details and other information supplied to us are accurate.
Eligibility for a donation tax credit depends on the nature of the donation, the Foundation's applicable donee status and the donor's individual circumstances.
Non-monetary gifts, including donated goods and services, may not qualify for a donation tax credit.
Information provided by the Foundation about donation receipts or tax credits is general information only and does not constitute tax, financial or legal advice.
Donation Refunds
As donations are voluntary gifts, they are generally non-refundable.
If you believe a donation has been made in error, duplicated, made without appropriate authority or processed incorrectly, please contact The Willowbank Foundation as soon as possible.
Requests for refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with applicable New Zealand law.
Where a refund is approved, it will generally be returned using the original payment method.
If a donation for which a New Zealand donation tax credit has already been claimed is subsequently returned, the donor may have obligations to Inland Revenue in relation to that tax credit.
Regular Giving
Where The Willowbank Foundation offers recurring or regular giving, the nominated donation amount will be processed at the frequency selected when the regular donation is established.
You may request cancellation of a recurring donation by contacting The Willowbank Foundation.
Please allow reasonable processing time before the next scheduled payment. Payments already processed before a cancellation takes effect will be subject to our Donation Refunds provisions above.
Fundraising Campaigns and Projects
From time to time, The Willowbank Foundation may promote particular projects, programmes, appeals or fundraising campaigns.
Descriptions of projects, funding goals, anticipated outcomes, timeframes and other information are based on information reasonably available to us at the time of publication and may change as projects develop.
While we aim to communicate our work accurately and transparently, the Foundation cannot guarantee that a particular project or programme will proceed exactly as originally described or achieve a particular outcome.
Where appropriate, we will endeavour to communicate material changes to significant fundraising initiatives.
Fundraising on Behalf of the Foundation
We welcome individuals, businesses, schools, community groups and other organisations wanting to support The Willowbank Foundation.
If you wish to undertake fundraising using The Willowbank Foundation's name, logo, branding or representing that your activity is being undertaken on behalf of the Foundation, you must contact us and receive approval before promoting the activity.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, individuals or organisations fundraising in support of the Foundation act independently and are responsible for ensuring their fundraising activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, permits, health and safety requirements and other obligations.
The Willowbank Foundation reserves the right to decline association with, or withdraw approval from, any fundraising activity that we consider inconsistent with our charitable purposes, values, reputation or legal obligations.
Donations of Goods and Services
The Foundation may accept offers of goods, services, expertise or other in-kind support at its discretion.
Acceptance will depend on whether the proposed support is appropriate, useful and consistent with the Foundation's charitable purposes and current needs.
Please contact the Foundation before delivering or committing goods or services to ensure they can be appropriately received and used.
The acceptance of donated goods or services does not necessarily mean the donor will be eligible for a New Zealand donation tax credit.
Programmes and Initiatives
The Willowbank Foundation may support or deliver conservation, community, education, science and research programmes, projects, experiences and initiatives.
Participation in individual programmes may be subject to separate eligibility criteria, referral processes, availability, conditions or arrangements.
Information on this website about eligibility or participation is general in nature and does not guarantee acceptance into, or availability of, a particular programme or experience.
Where a programme or experience is delivered in conjunction with Willowbank Wildlife Reserve or another partner organisation, additional terms, conditions, health and safety requirements or participation requirements may apply.
Referrals
Some Foundation programmes may be accessed through approved community, health, education or family support partners.
Submitting or receiving a referral does not automatically guarantee participation in a Foundation programme or experience.
Eligibility, availability and arrangements will be considered in accordance with the requirements of the particular programme and the Foundation's available resources.
Personal information received through referrals will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable New Zealand privacy law.
Partners, Supporters and Third-Party Organisations
The Foundation works with a range of community organisations, charities, businesses, conservation organisations, government agencies, researchers, education providers and other partners.
References or links to partners, supporters, sponsors or other third-party organisations on our website do not necessarily constitute endorsement of all products, services, views or activities of those organisations.
