For more than 20 years, Dale Hedgcock was at the heart of Willowbank Wildlife Reserve.

As General Manager, Dale dedicated much of his life to Willowbank — caring for wildlife, protecting native species, championing conservation and helping build a place where people could experience and connect with nature.

Following his own journey with cancer, Dale understood just how much serious illness can take over everyday family life. He wanted to create something that gave other families going through difficult times a break from hospitals, appointments and treatment — and the chance to simply have a great day together.

Dale’s DAY OUT is part of his legacy — a day created to bring a little — or a lot — of joy to families going through difficult times.
