Dale’s DAY OUT is a fully sponsored family day at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve for families facing serious illness, injury, bereavement or trauma.
A chance to step away from appointments, treatment and the pressures of everyday life, have some fun and simply enjoy being together.
Families can explore Willowbank, meet the animals, connect with nature and enjoy special wildlife experiences along the way — with everything taken care of.

The MAN Behind The Day.
For more than 20 years, Dale Hedgcock was at the heart of Willowbank Wildlife Reserve.
He was passionate about protecting native wildlife, championing conservation and, above all, connecting people with nature. Willowbank was a place he loved deeply and wanted others to experience and enjoy.
Following his own journey with cancer, Dale understood just how much serious illness can take over everyday family life. He wanted to give families going through difficult times the chance to step away from it all and simply have a great day together.
Dale’s DAY OUT brings that vision to life. Sharing his love of Willowbank, wildlife and nature to create a little, or a lot of joy for other families.
